SITStah’s…Stop here first!

***There’s been a little confusion and I just want to point out that I’m only the featured blogger today…I am NOT the designer that will redesign your blog (and everyone lets out a big sigh of relief after noticing the mess that my blog is). Mariah from Jula Studio is the designer that you could potentially win a new blog design from! (Congratulations, Cheryl, on winning the blog design!) Again, I repeat it is definitely NOT ME as I have no idea what I’m doing and would love a blog redesign of my own. Best of luck to you all!***

Oh my goodness! I can’t even believe this! How about I thought that my SITS day was TOMORROW the 15th and it’s not and I didn’t even put up my post or anything! TODAY is actually my SITS day! And I’m a little, um, unprepared. I don’t know what day it is! I can’t believe it…I feel so stupid!
So give me some time to set up my post…Christmas Jammie fun is on it’s way I promise.
(It’s here now!)

I managed to slap this post up real quick before realizing that the baby had just pooped…seriously. On top of that she’s totally attached to me today and won’t give me a moment to, well, do what I’m doing now. For TOMORROW I had a babysitter lined up so that I could spend all day long exchanging witty comments with other clever bloggers. I used to be totally on top of things and then I had a baby and my brain fell out of my ear and never came back. Oh, planning and preparation my frenemy. How you mock me so.

Here’s the deal…I want to blog about making family life fun, traditions, holidays, birthdays, making things special…whatever you want to call it (oh, I’m too frazzled to be eloquent right now). But the truth is that a good bit of the time I blog about my life as a mama and all that jazz. I like to think that I’m funny, but that’s open for debate.

So, here we are…my blog. I’m far from perfect and today it’s really showing. Welcome to motherhood. It smells like poop. And sunshine…don’t forget about the sunshine.

(Oh yeah, and WELCOME and stuff…)

Now let’s pretend none of that ever happened and move on to the post that I’m supposed to have up for you…10 Ways to Shake Up Your Christmas Pajamas Tradition…enjoy!

Replying to all of the comments wasn’t so bad…but trying to visit everyone’s blog today is killing me! Still I think it’s courteous to check them out since they took the time to visit me 🙂

    • Awesome, Holly! It’s nice when you meet another understanding mama who is also elbow deep in poop 🙂

We still do our PJs on Christmas Eve, but once the kiddos (my daughter 16m and nephew 6m) get older I think we’re going to change it to all month long! We definitely love our Jammies 🙂

  6. Happy SITS Day! Can’t wait to see the jammies post. Now that my son is growing out of the toddler sizes, it is harder to find cute Christmas themed jammies for Christmas Eve.

    • Thanks Elizabeth! The jammies post is up now, finally 🙂 My daughter is only 16m so I’m still able to get her Christmas-themed sleepers…but I didn’t think about their not being as many options for toddlers 😦 Now I’m worried! We actually do jammies for my extended family the youngest of whom (excluding my 16mo daughter and 6mo nephew) is 18 years old!

I LOVE the new pj tradition for Christmas. We’ve been doing it with our kids since 1994 and my oldest kids still allow me to indulge, which I love even more 🙂

    • My mom did this with us as kids and we’ve kept it going! I’m so glad that you found that funny. When I realized that some people had gotten it a little mixed up I felt so bad! I wondered how many people wandered in here, glanced around and said, “She seriously wants to design my blog?! Um, no thanks.” And walked back out again. Oopsie!
I would totally love to have you back anytime, Terra! We can procrastinate together…as you can see it’s one of my strong suits 😉

I definitely want to make her childhood great! It makes me so sad when kids don’t want to be at home with their families. I think we can certainly find ways to discipline our kids and give them good values and morals and still be weird and silly and have fun and encourage creativity and imagination. I believe it’s a foundation like that that keeps kids coming back home for fun and inviting their friends over. At least that’s what I’m hoping…but only time will tell!

Last year was my daughter’s first Christmas and we had so many different Christmas outfits that we never had enough days to wear them (we got a lot of snow that kept up from church a few weeks, boo!)…so one day I just dressed her up and took a bunch of pictures!
People keep telling me I’m funny…I’ve always thought so…but it almost seems so conceited to say, “By the way I’m hilarious and you should totally laugh at everything I say/write.”. I try to take the more humble approach just in case someone finds me more obnoxious than funny 😉
