The Ultimate Blog Party 2014

Ultimate Blog Party 2014

Hi, I’m Jenn! This is my 4th year participating in The Ultimate Blog Party and after four years I’m not sure how many different ways I can introduce myself without sounding repetitive, so this year I put together a little video that describes my blog.

(Watch video here)

Coolest Family on the Block is about birthdays, holidays, traditions, and family fun. I also love vlogging and blogging about myself and whatever pointless, sarcastic thing pops into my head, but I do all of that over at my other blog: I Make Myself the Queen.

You can read more about me on my about me page (duh) and over at my personal blog I Make Myself the Queen.

Please leave me a comment and tell me about your blog! Give me a shout out on social media so that I can follow you back!

Ultimate Blog Party 2013

Ultimate Blog Party 2013
I’m using this post for the Ultimate Blog Party and North East Bloggers Network: Getting to Know You link up.

Hi, I’m Jenn! Welcome to my blog!
This is my 3rd year participating in the Ultimate Blog Party and I am so excited to meet some new bloggers and get re-acquainted with my favorites. I know how these blog parties can be. You’re trying to visit and comment on as many blogs as possible so there isn’t a lot of time to read a non-sensical diatribe by a long-winded stranger. For those of you in a rush here are the bullet points:

*Christian
*Wife
*Stay-at-Home-Mom
*1 preschool girl, 1 toddler boy, 1 small dog
*Domestically Challenged Lazy = Dirty house
*Fashion = Pajamas
*Family = important, traditions = fun
*Funny, haha!

Me blog. You read.
Blog friends? Yay!
Follow? Thank you!

Comments = 🙂
Thanks for visiting!

For those of you with more time and a longer attention span, read on. Coolness, awesomeness, and hilarity will ensue. You don’t want to miss it. There will be much laughter…it will all be my laughter, but still…

ABOUT ME

I live near Pittsburgh, PA. I’m a wife to Cool Daddy and stay-at-home mom to 3.5 year old daughter, Adaline, and 14 month old son, Jonathan (my clomid vbac baby). We’re the coolest family on the block and we put the “fun” in dysFUNctional! 😉

*I hate cooking. (I consider making a sandwich “cooking”.)
*Dirty dishes make me want to hurl on my shoes (and fyi, I’d rather clean those vomit shoes than the dishes…proof of how much dirty dishes gross me out).
*I love planning parties.
*I have a serious addiction to ice cream.
*I’m a birth and breastfeeding nerd. I think placentas are rad. I’ve never eaten one but it’s on my bucket list (just kidding…sorta).
*I totally crack myself up (I apologize in advance)!

ABOUT MY BLOG

01 MY DOCUMENTS02

I try to keep my blog focus on creating traditions and family fun and reasons to ditch the housework and spend time with your kids. Sometimes I post about myself and the kids and which pajamas I’m wearing underneath the boogers today (I’ll tell you now…I’m probably wearing the same pajamas that I wore yesterday. And the day before that.). The truth is that the actual “spend time with your kids” part kinda keeps me from blogging as often as I’d like…and that’s okay. Occasionally the blog will go silent while I tend to things in the real world.

Glued to Mommy

Glued to Mommy

Each year in April I co-host the annual No Housework Party linky with Non-Domestic Mama. Be sure to stop by and link up any (new or old) housework or anti-housework related posts here. (Don’t forget to add a link back or a No Housework Party Button within your post.) If you don’t link up, that’s okay, I’ll just weep buckets of tears and eat snack cakes while I rock in the corner to take the pain away.

WHERE YOU’LL FIND ME

I’m prepared for the massive amounts of subscribers that I’m going to acquire any minute now begging me, “Please share your social media links with us, Cool Mama, so that I can follow you every minute in stalker-ish fashion and never miss a moment of your riveting and entertaining bloggy ways!” Well, for you, pretend random stalker-follower from the future, I will do anything. If you’ve fallen in love with me already (it happens, people…don’t fight it) and decided that you just can’t live without me another moment then I’ve made it very easy for you to stalk my every bloggy move.

You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, You Tube and more. You can find follow and friend buttons, RSS, and email subscription in the header, on the top of the right sidebar, at the very bottom of the blog, and at the bottom of every post. You’ll probably want to subscribe or follow one of those ways. Or all of them…there’s no shame in being a little excessive. We applaud it around here.

I’m not desperate, I’m just thorough. Very, very thorough. Ahem.

If you do follow me please leave me your links in a comment or message where you’re following at so that I can follow back (as in an “@” on Twitter, post on my FB wall, etc.). Thanks!

Coolest Family on the Block is committed to helping you find creative ways to have fun and make memories with your family all year-long. Don’t miss an idea, tip, or trick…subscribe and have updates sent directly to your email!

Ultimate Blog Party 2012!

Ultimate Blog Party 2012

Welcome to my blog! I’m Jenn! This is me…

Maybe you’re here because my sah-weet blog title caught your eye or maybe you just eeny-meeny-miney-moe’d it, either way I’m so glad that you stopped by.

This is where I tell you a little about myself. I live near Pittsburgh, PA. I love chocolate. I’ve seen the Back to the Future trilogy more times than any normal functioning human being should admit. I call myself “domestically-challenged” (Really I’m just lazy. And I hate housework. A lot.). I totally crack myself up (I apologize in advance)!
Now for the important stuff…I’m a wife to Cool Daddy and stay-at-home mom to 2.5 year old daughter, Adaline, and 2 month old little man, Jonathan (my clomid vbac baby). We’re the coolest family on the block and we put the “fun” in dysFUNctional! 😉

I try to keep my blog focus on creating traditions and family fun and reasons to ditch the housework and spend time with your kids. The truth is that I still spend a fair amount of time blogging about myself and funny things that happen and which pajamas I’m wearing underneath the spit-up today (I’ll tell you now…I’m probably wearing the same pajamas that I wore yesterday. And the day before that.).

So, if you like reading about pajamas and spit-up I suppose you may want to read some of my other posts. First you can try one of the many cleverly hidden links embedded in this post (Which I’m certain you didn’t notice at all. Because they are very mysterious. And secret. And not at all noticeable.). Then there are search boxes in the top right sidebar and the very bottom of the blog, categories in the widget in the left sidebar and again at the very bottom of the blog, and archives found in either sidebar or (you guessed it!) at the very bottom of the blog. Buttons to my most popular posts are in the right sidebar. I’m not desperate, I’m just thorough. Very, very thorough. Ahem.

I’m currently co-hosting the 2nd Annual No Housework Party linky until Saturday April 14. Link up any (new or old) housework or anti-housework related posts here. Please link up! My procrastination this year has left the linky a little empty and it makes me sad and I weep buckets of tears and eat snack cakes while I rock in the corner to take the pain away.

No Housework Party

If you’ve fallen in love with me already (it happens, people…don’t fight it) and decided that you just can’t live without me another moment then you’ll probably want to subscribe or follow one of the following ways. Or all of them…there’s no shame in being a little excessive.
We applaud it around here.

Lastly if you do follow me please leave me a message where you’re following at so that I can follow back (as in an “@” on Twitter, post on my FB wall, etc.). Thanks!

Welcome VoiceBoks Visitors!

If you’re visiting me from VoiceBoks.comwelcome! (If you’re visiting from someplace else, you’re welcome too 🙂 …keep reading!)

This past week I started getting a lot of comments that said “Visiting from VoiceBoks”. I checked my stats for referring sites, but there was no VoiceBoks 😦 (It’s still not showing up despite the traffic I’m getting from there. Weird.). So I went to the website to see if I could find my link. I didn’t see it anywhere just out in the open and I was so confused at how everyone found me. Finally late the other night I found my link here: List 2 May 16, 2011. Mystery solved. After I finally figured out where everyone was coming from I added my button to the blog directory and joined the community! Yay me 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and commenting!

I’ve been really behind on the blog lately. I’ve barely written any posts and I haven’t kept up with responding to comments. Oops. I try to visit everyone’s blog who comments, but I just haven’t had a chance. So, let me tell you a little about my blog and then we’ll chat some more about who’s following who and who’s visiting what blog when. You know, really important stuff.

You can read more about me here and my blog here and here. Hopefully by reading my About Me page and glancing at my sidebar you’ll get a good idea of my personality and what my blog is all about. Buttons for my most popular posts are located in the right sidebar, along with the category cloud. If you’re looking for a drop down menu of categories or my archives you can find them in the gray widget in the left sidebar. There are buttons at the bottom of each post and in the left sidebar so that you can subscribe and follow me as many ways as you like. You can subscribe to receive emails by using the WordPress subscription button at the top right sidebar or through feedburner by using any of the orange buttons with an envelope on it. I don’t have Google Friend Connect, so don’t look for it. If you like me on Facebook, live a comment with your page link so that I can like you back. If you follow me on Twitter @ me to let me know so that I can follow you back 🙂

I follow a lot of blogs. Like, too many. So many that I’m often so busy reading other blogs that I don’t have time to write my own! That being said I’m always open to subscribing to more blogs. I like to read blogs similar to my own that talk about family, traditions, and making memories (it helps if you’re funny too 😉 ). I’m looking to make bloggy friends, meaning, you read my blog and I read yours and we comment on each others blogs and get to know each other that way. The more that I can see that you have an interest in my blog and comment to let me know that…the more I’ll want to read and comment on your blog. Some people frown upon this way of “following”, but I can only read so many blogs a day and I’d rather read my “friends” blog than someone else’s.

I personally like to subscribe by email. I never use a feed and I never check Google Friend Connect. If you don’t have email subscription chances are I will never visit your blog after my first visit because I’ll forget all about it. If you have a WordPress blog you should have an email subscription option in your Widgets section. Just drop it in your sidebar (right at the top!) and you’re done 🙂 If you don’t use WordPress or don’t want to use their subscription box, you can sign up for feedburner (for free) and add an email subscription box or link. I also like to follow everyone on Facebook, Twitter, Networked Blogs, and Blog Frog. If I see those options on your blog, I will follow you there too…but I still prefer email subscription in addition to that.

I do like real comments about my posts not just, “I’m following you, follow back.”. So, if you’ve already left me a real comment, please feel free to include your follow information in your comment. Tell me a little about your blog, let me know if you’re on Twitter or Facebook, leave your links, etc. I don’t mind a little shameless self-promotion if it comes with a genuine interest in my blog 😉 This means I can start following you even sooner 🙂

You can friend me on VoiceBoks here:

And if you’re a fellow SITS Girl you can friend me here:

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. I really appreciate it and I’m excited to now be a part of your community.
