Welcome

Welcome

Greetings, strange person I do not know…

Welcome to the Coolest Family on the Block. We make lame look cool. We make cool look awesome. We make everything fun. Except this page, which so far seems to be rather dull. Oh well, you can’t win them all.

Do you like reading the nonsensical ramblings of a stranger? Then you came to the right place! You have just discovered a brand spanking new itty bitty newborn baby blog…lucky you! You win, well, absolutely nothing. Except bragging rights. That’s right, chat it up at your next mom’s group meeting about how you found this weird little blog by a crazy lady on the internet. They’ll all be sooo jealous that they didn’t find it first 😉
(But seriously, though, you should totally tell them because I could use more readers!)

I’m new to blogging and using WordPress = I don’t know what I’m doing. I want to be able to boss my blog around and have it submit to my every desire so that I can conquer the blogosphere with mediocre posts about my dull life and ultimately rule the world, but right now I just kinda nod at it and say,”Hey, how ya doing?” (P.S. I heart run-on sentences) So, I apologize if you stop by and you hear crickets and see tumbleweeds going by. At that very moment I am likely behind the scenes banging my head off of my keyboard trying to get my posts to act right. But I promise I’ll be back. Coolness, awesomeness, and hilarity will ensue. You don’t want to miss it. There will be much laughter…it will all be my laughter, but still…

Even though this blog is still new I figured I should set up a Facebook page to prepare for the massive amounts of subscribers that I’m going to acquire any minute now begging me, “Please go on to Facebook, Cool Mama, so that I can follow you every minute in stalker-ish fashion and never miss a moment of your riveting and entertaining bloggy ways!” Well, for you, pretend random stalker-follower from the future, I will do anything. So head on over to Facebook and “like” me. Go ahead, try it. I’m very likeable…all you need to do is click that button in the side bar to the right left (or any of the cleverly hidden links embedded on this page, which I’m certain you didn’t notice at all. Because they are very mysterious. And secret. And not at all noticeable.).

I’m on Twitter too. So if you’re into tweeting and reading tweets and whatnot you can follow me on Twitter. So guess what, another button in the side bar awaits. Clickety-Click.

So, that’s it. Visit often. Comment even often-er (I know that’s not a real word, put your red pen away!). Subscribe. Like me. Follow me. Friend me. And comment all over the place. Or not. I’m not desperate or lonely at all. Ahem.

Coolest Family on the Block is committed to helping you find creative ways to have fun and make memories with your family all year-long. Don’t miss an idea, tip, or trick…subscribe and have updates sent directly to your email!

  1. So much better! No collective “we” going on here. Much more inviting. This feels like an About Me page. As far as how I would suggest incorporating it, let me check out the other link and the blog as a whole before I go there.

But I really like this one.

    • I’ve been on WordPress since I started my blog back in August. Never been any place else. Don’t really know what I’m doing even though it’s been almost 6 months!

Still happy to be WordPress neighbors, though 🙂

(For a second there I thought that I was losing my mind and written a post about moving. I wouldn’t put it past myself these days.)

Love this welcome page too! Might want to add a heading/subtitle above the paragraph talking about Facebook to break up the text a bit and make it super easy to spot that your Social Media links are below! Maybe like “Engage with Me” or something.

  5. I like the way you’ve snuck in your links within the body of your post. Good job. 😉
