About Jenn

Hi! I’m Jenn!
It’s spelled with 2 “n’s” because Two n’s means more of Jenn!
And, really, isn’t that want everyone wants?

I’m cool in a totally awesome lame way.
(That means I’m not cool at all. I think.)

I live in the greater Pittsburgh area which means that I say “pop” instead of “soda”,
“sweeper” instead of “vacuum”, “lightening bug” instead of “firefly”,
and pronounce the word “creek” as “crick”. However, I never-ever say “yinz”.

My ex-husband (“Cool Daddy”) and I have struggled with unexplained infertility, but now I’m a…

…stay-at-home mama to sweet 1st grader Adaline Rose (08/09) and preschooler Jonathan Paul (02/12).

I’m a mama to one miscarried baby in heaven, Jordan Shiloh.

I’m a mama to furbaby boy, Muppet, a darling Maltese-Bichon Frise mix.
He likes to eat toilet paper and q-tips but we feed him dog food anyway.

We’re the coolest family on the block and we put the “fun” in dysFUNctional! 😉

I’m trying to go green, organic, vegetarian, and possibly crazy.

I’m an organized, detailed, list-making, (recovering) control freak. But since having kids I’ve become
one of those never-get-a-shower, can’t-get-anything-accomplished kinda moms. I smell purdy 😉

I’m a domestically challenged housewife that doesn’t know how to cook and hates to clean
(Wouldn’t you like to come over to my dirty house for dinner? I’ll be serving nothing with a side of
homemade nothing. I’ll be wearing the same booger covered pajamas I did yesterday. Yum!

I think I’m hilarious, although I may be the only one.

Don’t you wish you were cool like me?!
Well, there’s hope for you yet.
Read this blog and I may just rub off on you
(Is that another “I didn’t get a shower today” joke? You make the call.).
I’m on a mission to make my kids’ childhoods one that they’ll never forget.
We can help each other by sharing our traditions and fun family ideas with one another.

Keep it cool,
with 2 n’s

If you’ve fallen in love with me already (it happens, people…don’t fight it) and decided that
you just can’t live without me another moment then you’ll probably want to follow me one of the ways below.
Or all of them…there’s no shame in being a little excessive. We applaud it around here.

  1. I think you are pretty funny, too! So funny, in fact, that I subscribed to your blog!!! I LOVE family traditions and making a happy family life 🙂

  2. I LOVE family traditions and intentional fun planned. What a great bloggy purpose! 😉

  3. Just stopped over from Blog Frog, i am totally in the same boat. I am domestically challenged too, but can put on a good front when people come over to my house… Can’t wait to read more!!

  4. Hi CoolMama,

Love your blog, especially the pics of your cute little girl. What a sweetie. And the 15 reasons why your hubby is awesome was really great. I hope he gets to read it.

And by the way, thank you for the comments on my blog. Not sure if you remember, but you just helped me word my “long elevator pitch” a few days ago. It was awesome and something I will totally use. Thank you for taking the time to comment AND do some awesome writing for me.

You asked how to subscribe my email. Well, if you go to the home page, there’s a follow link on the right side and you can click on the envelope and feedburner will take care of the rest.

    Take care,

  5. Wow, you are funny…..not just to yourself. I have a tendency to think I am funny, but my hubby just laughs and tells me I am a dork. My 2 & 5 yo think I am hilarious, but the 9 and 11 only do sometimes…LOL….

    I was reading you list saying….yep, that’s me….yep, that’s me….yep, that’s me………

I recently discovered that I, in fact, can cook/bake and somewhat enjoy it. I’m no Martha Stewart, but I can at least finally feed my family! Things can change….lol…..

I am going to follow you, and look forward to learning more :o)

  6. Great WordPress blog and you do look cool and happy.

  7. Love your blog will be back. I tried to grow tomatoes, but it went a bit wrong – they tried to take over my patio.lol. Anyway, I decided to get rid. I put them in a corner and just left them. One day I realised that they had grown exponentially and had taken over another part of the garden!
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I just grow herbs now in pots and have started on strawberries this year. Nina

  8. Found you through SITS. Thinking about possibly guest posting. LOVE your Dr. Seuss snacks post!

  9. Lynda Giddens - PhotoLynda

Great job on your about page! I get a good sense of who you are and what your blog’s about and I’m entertained! I like your conversational style with interlinking thrown in!

  10. Stopping by from SITS and I love this page! It really gives people an idea of who you are.
The picture is pretty cute. Love the T-shirt.
Thanks for stopping by my blog this morning. Your suggestions were much appreciated.

  11. So, I just stumbled upon you while searching the web for fun and frugal ways to make my baby’s 1st birthday a ladbug dream. I have to say, I love love love it! I too am a born again Christian stay-at-home mom. You are hilarious, over the top and far from “domestically challenged.” I was thinking to myself, while looking through the pictures, “Wow, this woman has way too much time on her hands.” HaHa

Thank you so much for sharing your life with…well, the world. I struggle with finding ways to make memories for my family and I love the idea of birthday photos. And the party looks like it was over-the-top beautiful. I am stealing some of your deocrating ideas. I have subscribed and look forward to reading more about your family memories ideas.

  12. LOL you’re too funny! I too have had issues with miscarriages. Not fun but the Lord is in control and I’m thankful for that. Glad that you are having another child in February. I was born in Feb…the 22nd to be exact. Good date 🙂 And…yes…I can’t fight it…I am subscribing LOL crack me up girl.

  13. Jacqueline Mukweto

  16. Hi! Visiting from the SITS October challenge. Love your about page! I’m pretty sure you have me laughing more than once, which is always a good thing. I’m similar to you in that I’m emotionally allergic to cleaning too! Glad to have met you!

  17. Hey, hey. Fellow SITStah dropping in to say hi. I love your page and how confident you are in being you. Can’t wait to read more from you!

  18. Shannon Mericle

Hello!! I just fell upon you blog looking for Dr. Seuss fonts and I signed up. I don’t usually sign up for things like this because I don’t like email overload. I just couldn’t resist another momma with a story similar to mine. I love your creativity and can’t wait to hear more from you.
