(a.k.a. Happy Birthday to me!)
Another sad sorry short one today 😦
I didn’t have a 19th Birthday party.
So, here’s a picture of 19 year old me

Jenn’s 18th Birthday 1997
Celebrating 30 Years in 30 Days!
(a.k.a. Happy Birthday to me!)
I have no recollection of my 18th birthday, although I’m sure that it happened seeing how I got older and all. I did not have a party. I had graduated high school by this time and had gotten my first job. I had a boyfriend at the time and I’m sure he took my out to eat or something.
Here’s a picture taken a month or two before my birthday.

Jenn’s 17th Birthday 1996
(a.k.a. Happy Birthday to me!)
Well, this is going to be a short one.
For my 17th Birthday I had a sleepover.
I had a few girls from the Dance Line spend the night.
I don’t remember anything else, nor do I have any photos or videos 😦
For shame.

For shame.
I’m pretty sure that my senior pictures were taken very close to my birthday.
I was supposed to have them taken earlier than that but the photographer called and had to reschedule because she broke her arm (how dare she).
Once I finally got the photos taken it was a terrible experience.
I didn’t care for the photographer at all.
Without going into much more detail, here are just a few of those photos.

I hope that’s not supposed to be the Ladder of Success
because I look way too tired and disinterested to climb it!
I loved me some grunge. Best fashion trend ever!
My hair wasn’t usually that clean either 😉
I chose the picture above for my headshot in the yearbook as I felt that it more closely represented me as a person. As opposed to this photo which the photographer took specially to be used in the yearbook:
No thank you.
That’s it for today 😦

Jenn’s 16th Birthday 1995
(a.k.a. Happy Birthday to me!)
Can you believe that we’re already in the second half of Celebrating 30 Years in 30 Days?!
It feels like it’s been 16 days or something (tee-hee)!
Well, today I’m going to turn 16. On the blog that is.
I had a party of 16 people (myself and sister included).
Everyone (with the exception of 4 kids from church) at the party was in the marching band.
We actually had a Band Festival that night and I live about 5 minutes away from the field, so it worked out that all of the band kids were at my house.
Once again I am missing photos but I was able to take screenshots from the VHS tape.
The tape didn’t transfer well, so the pictures are pretty fuzzy 😦
The night before my party (which was held on my actual birthday) my best good friend, Meghan spent the night. We were up until 3am watching Forest Gump while Meghan braided my hair.
This was the best picture that I could get:
Meghan also ripped my jeans for me (yay!).
I believe that she felt led to do that because 15 years later I would want to show all of you a picture of my knee. And here it is…
(That’s Meghan in the background.)
I was wearing Chucks because they are awesome.
D.C. Talk’s “Jesus Freak” was playing in the background because it is awesome.
Here’s a peek into the dining room.
This card appears to have something to do with driving,
which is funny since I still don’t drive.
We never get a chance to see the cake except for the piece on my plate.
It appears to be chocolate!
(You’re shocked, I know!)
Here are various screenshots of me. My hair was super long (down to my waist).
Later this same year I ask my sister to trim my hair and she cut it up to my chin.
It looked cute, but I was still ticked off!
And here I am waving good bye.
Or perhaps I am telling the story of a one-antlered moose named Mooster Alexander Lollighan the 3rd.
You decide.

Jenn’s 15th Birthday 1994
(a.k.a. Happy Birthday to me!)
I did not have a party for my 15th birthday.
But I will tell you what I did on my 15th birthday because I know that you’re very interested.
The day before my birthday I was inducted in my school’s Usher’s Club.
The coolest part was that I got to sign my name in the same exact book
my mom had signed 20 years prior when she was in the Usher’s Club.
(Let’s all say “Hooray!” for shoulder pads and giant hair bows!)
When I turned 15 my birthday was on a Friday, which means that there was a football game that night.
I was on the Dance Line in the band so that evening I was busy
performing in our Fiddler on the Roof halftime show.
That’s me behind the trumpet player.
That’s me behind the trumpet player.
A peasant girl, Cinderella, or an Eat N’ Park waitress? You decide!
That’s my sister on the left hiding behind a flag, she was a Color Guard.
My family was visiting from Florida at the time and it was nice that my grandparents got to see me march.
I really enjoyed the Dance Line so I didn’t mind having to march on my birthday.
Other than that I don’t remember any details.
It’s probably for the best that this is a short post.
It’ll give you a chance to rest up for the Sweet 16 Party tomorrow.

Jenn’s 14th Birthday 1993
(a.k.a. Happy Birthday to me!)
For my 14th Birthday Party I had a Surprise Party.
There was no theme or anything like that.
I once again had a chocolate cake with chocolate icing.
I had to take screenshots of my VHS tape to get some images for you to see.
Before getting into the riveting party details I have even more exciting nonsense for you. At the beginning of the VHS I sit down confessional/vlog style and tell in great detail every aspect of my actual birthday the day before. I even read straight from my diary. If I mentioned a card or a gift…I then show it to the camera.
This goes on for about 20 minutes (although in my defense it would’ve been much shorter if my sister would’ve stopped interrupting me every other sentence.).
So here is the very condensed version of my monologue.
I sing “Happy Birthday to me”.
I show you a Birthday card from my French teacher. Bon Anniversaire, Babette!
I show you a bunch of other things that I couldn’t get a half-decent screenshot of so there are no pictures (I’m sure that you’re all tore up about it.).
And then I show you the flowers my dad got me.
And then I show you the flowers my dad got me.
I tell you about my trip to the mall and how I went to The Deb
to get a pair of stretchy lightly-washed very mid-90s straight legged jeans.
Then to prove it…I show you my left leg.
Then to prove it…I show you my left leg.
I show you my Marvin the Martian t-shirt and then the matching Marvin necklace and earrings.
Then my sister shows you a cat.
Then I show you my DQ ice cream cake…yum!
It says “Keep Frozen” because even way back then I liked to keep it cool.

And now on to the incredibly fascinating Surprise Party.
First…it was a Surprise.
Second earlier before the party I went to the movies with my dad to see “Cool Runnings”.
Third, when I got home my very best friends (Kelly, Kendra, and Thadina) were there to surprise me.

A few other guests arrived later.
I was opening gifts and I bumped my elbow…ouch!
Only cool kids wear gift bows on their heads.
This is what it looks like after we eat.
Here is my chocolately-chocolate cake. It says “Happy Birthday Jennifer 14!”
which would make sense because my name is Jennifer and it was my 14th Birthday.
And now I am done torturing you with lame parties and really bad fuzzy pictures.
For today at least.
